TV Show: The Office

My friend told me to check out the American version of The office. I started watching it and I really got sucked into it. Some of the episodes are definitely better than others. I’m not a big fan of some of the scenes they portray but all in all I really like the humor.

One of those days | Redbull

I’m so tired today. Luckily Japan sells Redbull here so I grabbed one at a Konbini to get my adternoon’s work done!

I found ‘Essence’ make up in Japan!

Look at this beautiful summery blush I found! Essence is a German brand (I think… That’s what it says on the back of the products) but I found it in a Japanese import store. The prize was even a bit better than in Germany, probably because of the high taxes in the homeland.

TV Show: Daredevil

I started Marvel’s Daredevil the other day after I finished Firefly. I’m just one episode in but I like it so far. I heard the his one is much better than the movie that came out years ago.

TV Show: DC’s Supergirl | Flash Crossover

Gotta be honest here: I started watching DC’s Supergirl just because a crossover with DC’s Flash was announced (Flash is my current favorite show, even though season 2 has so many breaks between it’s episodes it is quite frustrating).

To be honest, Supergirl is entertaining at times but I get rather bored by the fight scenes. I like the scenes where she is Kara or tries to conceal her identity but I have seen so many versions of Superman that I favor him over Supergirl. Clark only sometimes appears and you never see his face. Sure, CW  doesn’t want to meddle with other DC stuff or the movies that are out and the show is not about him but Kara.

When the Supergirl/ Flash crossover came around I was surprised to see how they resolved the DC universe issue. You guys might know that there are lots of other shows exiciting like Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Flash but neither of them mention Supergirl in any way or that they have a Superman.

Barry Allen appears in Supergirl’s National City, rather confused by her not knowing who he is and being very irritated by the fact that she is an alien. The solution: As he is training to get faster in order to beat Zoom, he is actually so fast that he breaches the connection between the earths and enters into another earth, let’s call it Earth 3.

There are no Meta Humans, no Starlabs, no super heros or vigilantes on Earth 3 other than Supergirl and Superman. So Barry can basically reveal his identity to everyone without risking too much. He helps out Kara and then runs back to Earth 1 by the end of the episode. That episode itself was fun to watch.

Review: Firefly & Serenity

Many people told me this was a great show, one of the best Science Fiction series ever made. Everyone I talked to was dissapointed that this show was cancelled and I can see why. The series was made in the early 2000s, but was cut after only one season. Firefly unites Science Fiction and Western and follows a crew of a spaceship named Sirenity.

I started watching Firefly a few weeks ago and finished off with the movie and I agree: there is much potential and I am very  glad they made the movie to wrap everything up and tie loose ends- But I am still kinda bummed Mal and Inara didn’t get together. I guess it was not really meant to be just yet. She stays on the ship for now.

Another thing that I thought was sad, was that Wash died. I always liked his character. I know that if Jayne would have been killed, people would have not cared so much and it is true: In war our friends and family die and Zoe, as the worrier that she is, is strong enough to bear it.

I am not overly bummed there are not more seasons, since I already know it got chancelled early. It’s a good series and they could have done so much more with it, but the excisting episodes are all great and very interesting. If you lice well made and good written Sci-Fi, check this one out!
