London here I come…

Im so exited! I’m going to visit London next week. My friend was a bit worried because of Brexit (the Brits voted on leaving the EU) and that she couldn’t travel to England anymore without a passport (I chuckled… We are going next week and Brexit might take years).

I will be visiting the Warner Studios, Madame Tussaud’s and the London Dungeon! It will be sooooooo much fun!

Body Shop | White Musk Eau de Toilette

I’ve always wanted this! Walking past the colorful Body Shops in Japan with countless displays of nice smelling and exotic lotions and parfums.

I always wanted this Eau de toilette. It smells warm and comforting but is light and not heavy at the same time. The scent fades after a while and stays as a comfortable nice smelling scent, which I like. I’m not a fan of giving someone a hug that wears heavy parfum and then smelling like this person and having the scent in my nose the whole evening.

This Eau se toilette is the perfect balance.

Audio Books: Interitance Cycle | Brisignr & Inheritance

I finally finished the Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini. I think it too me almost 9 months to complete it and I really miss listening to it. I wrote about the first two books (Eragon and Eldest) here, if you would like to read the review.

So, as Eragon’s adventure and struggle against King Galbatorix finally comes to an end I am rather saddend that I actually finished the books. It was a great story, even though some parts were a bit slow. The character development was great, even though there are characters that seem very steady and make only little progress.

Brisingr and Inheritance follow Eragon as he becomes stronger, becomes more of a leader and a more skilled magician than he ever thought he could be. The end of the series of course leads to the confrontation with Galbatorix and many things are revealed that explain why exactly Eragon became a rider and how he was lead up to this point and how Galbatorix became so strong. It is a good ending, even though it’s different than some fans might want it to be. It’s a bit sad but honestly, it is a wonderful ending for Eragon, as he excells all riders and magicians before him and as there is much more for him to do and learn.

If you love Fantasy, especially medieval stories, read the Inheritance Cycle. It’s one of the best book series I have ever read. What a journey!

Flash Season 2 Finale | Review

I just got the time to finish Flash season 2. Oh my goodness you guys! There were some events where I was like: Woooow! Stoked! And events where I was upset over the writers choice of storytelling.

The end of the season is a bigger cliff hanger than the last and I’m very excited to see how season 3 turns out. In the following sections I will talk about some of the aspects of the season and its final episode m, so if you haven’t seen the finale be warned of spoilers!

———————

Okay so, first of all season 2 is not as good as season 1 but I still enjoyed it. What I didn’t like was that Barry couldn’t get a grip on the right attitude as the Flash and stay together with Patty, who I absolutely adore! But you know the writers are good so I accepted the style of writing because we all know the hero has to struggle through stuff.

But what I was really disappointed about was how they solved the identity of the masked man. Dude, we were all at the edge of our seats with his guy. Who he was… Why he was imprisoned. He was a key figure. Why didnt the writers give him a more spectacular reveal? It’s Jay Garrik! And it’s Barry’s dad! Hello? In the end, they just show him in the lab where his mask is being taken off. He could have had such a dramatic reveal, especially with Henry’s death.

Here comes the next point I wan’t to talk about. Henry Allen’s murder by Zoom. I think it was very sad and heartbreaking. But seriously: Barry has too much family for a super hero. He has Henry and then a full-on dad, sister, brother family with the Wests. From a writer’s point of few, letting Henry die was a good choice, especially as he was killed by Barry’s second arch nemesis (his mom being killed by his first arch nemesis). But I seriously fear for Joe now…

The last point I want to write about is the end of the season. Barry is so heartbroken that he makes the jump into the past to change his mother’s murder, even though he decided not to do it at the end of season 1. Wow, everything is different now. And my first thought was: is Arrow going to stop with the cross overs? Because their reality will change too because of Barry’s time jump: pretty cool stuff to think about. I wonder how they continue the series. Will Barry loose his powers? Will he try to get them back in order to stop himself from preventing his mother’s death? Will Flash do a whole new story line? But isn’t that counterproductive to the show because people have started to love the characters how we know them?

Give me your thoughts! How do you think will season 3 look like?

Cold brew at Starbucks blows my mind

I’m in Germany right now with my Japanese friends and I’m super stoked to take them around. I went to a Starbucks in Frankfurt for a break and they had Cold Brew coffee there. It was so delicious, I was astonished. The coffee tasted so much different and had a lot of flavor! I hope they bring cold brew to Starbucks in Japan!
